Meet Steve Pylypchuk & Marisa Sweeney
Leaders Who Get Things Done
Steve Pylypchuk
Steve Pylypchuk is a civil engineer, Morristown Councilman, and longtime community advocate with nearly a decade of public service experience. As a Zoning Board Chairman and Environmental Commissioner, he fought for affordable housing, sustainable development, and policies that put working families first.
Steve has spent his career rebuilding New Jersey’s roads, bridges, and transit systems, leading major infrastructure projects like the JFK and LaGuardia Airport renovations and the Route 35 reconstruction after Superstorm Sandy. He knows firsthand that infrastructure isn’t just about construction—it’s about helping people get home to their families, making streets safer, and ensuring our communities are built to last.
As a father and working professional, Steve understands the challenges families face—rising costs, broken transit, housing insecurity, and the struggle to balance work and childcare. He’s running for State Assembly to deliver real solutions, not just political soundbites. From fixing NJ Transit and expanding affordable housing to protecting reproductive rights and supporting working parents, Steve is ready to fight for a stronger, fairer, and more connected LD25.
Marisa Sweeney
Marisa Sweeney is a small business owner, public health advocate, and community leader dedicated to expanding healthcare access, strengthening local economies, and supporting working families. As a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and founder of Be Well Integrative Health Services, she has spent over a decade providing affordable, holistic healthcare solutions through a team of licensed healthcare practitioners. Be Well is headquartered in Morristown but serves clients nationwide, working alongside world-renowned medical institutions to improve healthcare outcomes.
Beyond her business, Marisa has dedicated herself to public service. She founded the Morristown Mayors’ Wellness Campaign, served as President of the New Jersey Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, and currently sits on the Morristown Planning Board and Grow It Green Morristown’s Board of Directors. She is also the co-founder of the New Jersey VegFest, one of the nation’s largest plant-based food festivals, helping to grow small businesses and promote sustainable food systems.
Marisa knows that healthcare is a right, not a privilege. She has spent years fighting for access to quality, affordable healthcare, reproductive rights, and stronger community support systems for families. Now, she’s running for State Assembly to bring that fight to Trenton—ensuring that every New Jerseyan has access to the care, housing, and opportunities they need to thrive.
