Meet Steve Pylypchuk & Marisa Sweeney
Leaders Who Get Things Done
Steve Pylypchuk
Steve Pylypchuk is a civil engineer, Morristown Councilman, and candidate for the State Assembly. He grew up in a working-class union household where he learned the value of persistence, fairness, and community. Today, he and his wife are raising two daughters in Morristown, grounding his public service in the everyday challenges families face.
With nearly a decade of public service, Steve has served as Zoning Board Chairman, Environmental Commissioner, and now Councilman, where he has fought for affordable housing, sustainable growth, and policies that put working families first. He brings the same systems thinking from his engineering career into public office by fixing problems at their root, listening to the people most affected, and delivering durable solutions.
As a professional engineer, Steve has led major projects across New Jersey, from rebuilding Route 35 after Superstorm Sandy to modernizing JFK and LaGuardia Airports. For him, infrastructure is never just about concrete and steel. It is about people getting home safely, communities staying connected, and ensuring towns are built to last.
Steve is running for State Assembly to deliver more than promises. He believes the most important infrastructure is the kind we build around people. That means fixing NJ Transit, expanding affordable housing, protecting reproductive rights, and supporting working parents. He is not here to climb the political ladder. He is here to build it, and to make sure every family in LD25 has a seat at the table.
